October 25th, 2007

Greetings Folly Friends,

Jenniefer Kirk Well, the Witches have gathered and celebrated the season.  We convened on Saturday, October 13th at Seaview - it was a balmy, beautiful evening and we partied in true Witchery Style. Everyone was very original with their Witch attire, from shoes to hats and brooms - it was all there.

For those of you who might be new to Kirks Folly, every year we celebrate the season with a Witch Party - only Good Witches of course. We started with Witches Brew, which is a lovely concoction of Pomegranate and Blueberry juice, ginger ale, vodka and lots of Pomegranate seeds floating around. Of course we served in a cauldron with dry ice for a smoky effect and light up pumpkin ice cubes. We followed with fabulous hor dourves and then it is on to a sit down dinner. This year we decided to do a tasting menu, 8 courses, starting with a pumpkin and squash soup with black bean puree making spider webs on top, oven roasted tomato salad, hard apple cider marinated scallops on purple potato chips, pumpkin ravioli with cinnamon cream sauce, shrimp with crab and vegetable stuffing with Lobster Newburg sauce, miniature beef Wellington, chicken pot pie in miniature sour dough bowls, sliced fresh marinated peaches with whipped vanilla cream and Witches themed chocolate truffles. It was quite a delight.

During dinner, Witch Kaena passed around a note to each Witch and asked them to read it - the note contained a message expressing a good, powerful strong virtue of each Witch. We then put all the notes back and mixed them up and asked each Witch to choose again - and she would then aspire to the new virtue she had chosen.

It was a magical night - many goods spells cast! I really hope that you enjoy the pictures we took - which can be seen by Clicking Here - Pics. (A video of the party can also be seen by Clicking Here - Video)

The Fairyland Factory is in overdrive getting ready for the "BIG SALE" and I promise you it will be BIG! Bigger than ever - brace yourselves fairies. Friday, November 2nd, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm and Saturday, November 3rd, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, so start your engines ladies and let the games begin. If there are those of you out there sitting on the side lines wondering if you should come, trust me, this is the one!!!

I would like to share with you some words from our friend Andrea in London: "This is a wonderful time as we move toward Samhain or the better known Halloween. In mythic tradition, a time to honor the ancestors who have gone before, this is the time where the worlds of past, present and future meet. On this night it is believed that spirits, mortals and ancestors might meet. The veil between the worlds is thinnest on All Hallows Eve. A time to cleanse and review how we see life and ourselves, especially if things are not working out.  What do we need to leave behind and what do you wish to take forward with you?"

I leave you with this:

"Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly." - Langston Hughes

Magic Always,
